Tonewood Film Productions
We are proud to announce that we have teamed up with Likeminded Productions, for an exciting new venture.

We will be at the heart of theatre and film making in the centre of Liverpool.
This Girl - The Cynthia Lennon Story
We recently made the film ' This Girl - The Cynthia Lennon Story ' by Mike Howl, based on the stage play, which was performed numerous times in Liverpool, then taken to London to the Camden Fringe Festival.
The film is based on the first part of the play tthe early days of John Lennon and Cynthia Powell, how they first met at Art College, and how Cynthia became such a big part of the early Beatles.
The film was shown at Wavertree Town Hall during the Beatles Festival, and was very well recievced by a live audience.
Plans are in place to release the film this year, and to start filming part 2, so watch this space!

The future is bright
We are so looking forward to working with so many talented theatre and film makers in our wonderful city of Liverpool.

There is a wealth of young and more experienced talent in our city, which we hope to help and promote to achieve greater goals, than anyone could ever acheived without the help and skills of likeminded individuals.

Our philosophy is that every creative is an island, working helplessly on their own. We intend to bridge those islands, and bring everyone together to work for the greater good.

We are currently planning 6 short films, based on the idea of each film having it's own twist.
Some will be horror films, and some just plain weird, we can't wait to get started!
About Us
Tonewood Productions was originally set up as a recording studio, producing music for BBC Television, including, Bitsa, We are the champions, Words and pictures and many more.
The recording studio consists of a Pro-Tools HD2 system with an Apple Mac Pro as the host computer, and monitering from Genelec 1021A speakers.
After producing music for BBC and many locals bands and singer/songwriters, we produced the album 'Dusty Road' by Klezmer-ish, which was signed by Riverboat Records and distributed worldwide by World Music Network. The album was praised by a review in The Times, and Producer Mark Reader was praised for his recording skills in making the album.
After filming many Pop video's for clients, we were approched by playwrite Mike Howl, and asked if we would make the Film 'This Girl'. Since then we have gone from strength to strength,  joining forces with Likeminded Productions to bring both Theatre and Film making under one roof.
